HCI which stands for Human-Computer Interaction means the study of how a user, or a group of users, interacts, directly or indirectly with a piece of technology.

UX or User Experience is a term that describes the overall experience a user has when interacting with a product. It is about putting the ‘end- user’ in the ‘spotlight’, and centering the design to focus around their experiences, desires, emotions and motivations.

Gamification’s main inspiration comes from understanding the factors that make games engaging and motivational to the users. In HCI, it means adding design elements from a video-game or, a game in general, to a non-game context to motivate the users to voluntarily interact with a product in an engaging way.
