  • HCI which stands for Human-Computer Interaction means the study of how a user, or a group of users, interacts, directly or indirectly with a piece of technology.

  • UX or User Experience is a term that describes the overall experience a user has when interacting with a product. It is about putting the ‘end- user’ in the ‘spotlight’, and centering the design to focus around their experiences, desires, emotions and motivations.

  • Gamification’s main inspiration comes from understanding the factors that make games engaging and motivational to the users. In HCI, it means adding design elements from a video-game or, a game in general, to a non-game context to motivate the users to voluntarily interact with a product in an engaging way.
